Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where diplomatic options are rare.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a personal reason to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the combat party won’t be around next week, leaving the rest of the participants to form the Questers and Strategists groups.
